Register Now for the New WIPO Executive Master’s Degree Program in Morocco

Registration for the inaugural edition of the WIPO Joint Executive Master’s Degree Program in Intellectual Property and Innovation offered at the Université Mohamed VI Polytechnique Ben Guerir in Morocco is now open. The executive graduate program is organized in collaboration with the Moroccan Industrial and Commercial Property Office (OMPIC) of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Kingdom of Morocco, and is designed for working professionals seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in managing intangible assets and commercializing innovative ideas. Candidates can apply until July 31, 2025 via the WIPO eLearning Center. 

Apply for the WIPO Joint Executive Master’s Degree Program in IP and Innovation

The program was established in 2023 during the visit to Morocco by Mr. Daren Tang, WIPO Director General. The 12-month intensive program is due to run from September 19, 2025 to September 13, 2026, and is fully residential with lectures taking place on weekends to cater to the schedules of working professionals.

What does the program cover?

WIPO supported the development of a comprehensive curriculum and will supplement the program by providing expert lecturers. The Joint Executive Master’s Degree Program in Intellectual Property and Innovation covers topics such as:

  • Innovation economics and policy;
  • Measuring innovation;
  • Market failures and innovation/intellectual property (IP) policy;
  • Matching national innovation systems and the IP framework;
  • Principles and practices of technology transfer; and
  • Legal approaches to IP and innovation.

Participants will be required to complete and defend a research project as part of the curriculum to successfully complete the degree.

Who can apply?

To qualify, candidates must have at least a master’s degree in business, law, engineering, science or technology. Candidates must also have a minimum of two to three years of professional experience in a field related to innovation, research, creativity, or protection of intangible assets. Fluency in French and an intermediate level of English proficiency are required.
