The WIPO Technology Trends Report 2025 was launched on February 6, 2025 at an event held in Geneva, Switzerland. The 3rd edition of the WIPO Technology Trends focused on the Future of Transportation. The report explores how innovation and emerging technologies are shaping the way we will move around in the future. The report identified two main themes: sustainability and digitalization, which are driving the future of transportation.

The report was launched by the WIPO Director General Daren Tang followed by a keynote address by world-renowned futurist Nikolas Badminton and a presentation of the key findings of the report. The event also included two panel discussions on various themes in transportation from innovation and technology to standards, policies, and regulations.

The event also featured an exhibition Imagining tomorrow, today, that included a walk down the history of transportation, exhibitors from several startups, research organizations and companies, including the Swiss Museum of Transport, who are pushing the boundaries of where tomorrow’s transportation is heading. In addition, the exhibition showcased entries from children from over 30 countries around the world who wrote or drew what they think the future of transportation looks like.
